"I look to capture a moment, a gesture, a fleeting sense of a place in time. The art of photography is often combined with the art of painting, to compose, to capture and then depart. I wish to imagine, invent, and create an image that depicts more than a scene or person, but expresses a part of me, and hopefully engages each viewer to relate and share in that experience as well. For me, it is the journey and the joy in creating a work of art that truly inspires."
-Pamela Parsons

Pamela Parsons is an abstract expressionist painter working primarily in oils and acrylics on canvas and panel. Parsons is known for her creative use of color. The artist's abstract work focuses on the balance and rhythm inspired by music and the natural world. Her work often arises purely from intuitive and emotive sources, using color as her main source of expression. Parsons also has a body of work in the impressionist style. Although her current focus is on the abstract, at times Parsons still delves back into her impressionist roots to capture the beauty of Bucks County, the Jersey Shore, New England and the Maine Coast. Her current work explores the concepts of balance and rhythm in line, shape, color, relationships and connections. Historical influences include the Pennsylvania Impressionists and the Abstract Expressionist action painters of the New York School. She is especially interested in intuitive, gestural and action painting. Pamela Parsons’ paintings can be found in private collections throughout the United States.
