"[She] has a deft, painterly way of depicting forms in light. Sharply edged shapes tend to be isolated against an artificially flat ground."
-Robin Rice

Painter Sandra Flood, is a full-time, self-taught artist who started her oil painting career in a small Mechanics Street studio and gallery in New Hope, Bucks County in the 1980s. Painting on linen, mylar and paper, her work is primarily figurative, imbued with subtle yet compelling emotion. She believes "less is more" when it comes to her art work.

Flood admires a great range of both contemporary and historic artists who have had a deep influence on her painting, including Egon Schiele, Lucian Freud, Edward Degas, Robert Motherwell, James Whistler, and Antonio Lopez-Garcia.

Her most recent works reside in private collections nationally as well as in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Flood has and continues to exhibit locally as well as in Chicago, Illinois; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Austin, Texas.

She resides in a 160 year old house in Frenchtown, New Jersey, with her husband Michael, a woodworker, and their scrappy dog, Degas.
